Starting in 1976, town residents have held this every other summer
event for the benefit of their park. Proceeds from these volunteer
efforts and personal contributions have paid for the recreation area's
development and maintenance. Pettisville's park is unique in that no
taxes have been used in it's funding and no administrative fees are
paid to the elected Park Board members. The Park is a community project
supported by a network of volunteers.
This photo was taken during the 2000 festival at the
Pettisville Community Park. Before the park was created, the festival
took place behind the high school on the ball diamond.
